Dr. Terry Korinth
PT, DPT, Physical Therapist

I grew up in Springfield, Pennsylvania, a suburb right outside of Philadelphia, with my younger brother and parents. As a kid, I loved sports – I played soccer, baseball, and roller hockey. In the winter, I would snowboard with my brother and friends. I received my undergraduate degree in Kinesiology from Pennsylvania State University (We are!), which is where my interest in physical therapy began. I worked various jobs after graduating, including working for an AmeriCorps non-profit education organization called City Year, which is where I met my wife. I also worked as a prosthetic technician and then as an outpatient rehab technician. I eventually moved to New Hampshire to start my Doctorate of Physical Therapy program at Plymouth State University. We went from living in the big city of Philadelphia to a small New Hampshire mountain town (with lots of snow). My last clinical rotation as a PT student was in Fleming Island FL & I eventually made the official move to Florida once graduation was complete. I have lived in Jacksonville, near my wife’s hometown, a little over a year now. We are recently married as of March 2023. I previously worked with Brooks Rehabilitation at an outpatient clinic treating a wide range of cases including athletes, work-related injuries, general population injuries/pain, orthopedic post-op patients, and the senior population.

At Direct Orthopedic Therapy, I specialize in orthopedic conditions, fall prevention, balance, manual therapy.

Physical therapy can be important for many different ailments including post-operative, acute and chronic injuries, sports performance, balance deficits, transfers… the list really goes on and on. My favorite part of being a physical therapist is helping people achieve their specific goals, whether that be returning to their favorite sport, being able to get out of bed without assistance, walking without an assistive device, or being more confident in their ability to walk around the house without falling. I help people realize what they are capable of so that they can live their best lives. I work with you as not just the diagnosis you’ve been given, but as a whole person. I focus on what is truly important to you.

Dr. Terry has been so great. I honestly have been so happy with his care. He’s knowledgeable & caring but also makes me feel like a friend is helping me get better. He’s always trying to figure out how to help me get stronger and stay comfortable at the same time. I always feel better when I leave and when I have a new pain I know Terry will figure it out.
