Dr. Cage Cramer
PT, DPT
Physical Therapist

I was born and raised outside of Cleveland, Ohio. Throughout high school and college, I always maintained multiple jobs in various fields of work, including childcare, contracting/construction, food services, gym management, and charity. Growing up, I was always involved in some kind of sport, but ice hockey quickly became my main passion shortly after I learned how to walk. After high school, I attended The Ohio State University to major in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences and minor in Psychology. After OSU, I packed my car to the roof and headed to the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences to earn my Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree. After graduating, I quickly began working in an outpatient setting, working with all conditions including orthopedic injuries, neurological conditions, cardiopulmonary conditions, amputees, post-operative cases, among many others.

I’ve always been drawn to outpatient orthopedics because it lets me work with people from all walks of life—from weekend warriors to professional athletes. My background includes work with the Jacksonville Icemen hockey team and gaining advanced training in dry needling, concussion management, strength and conditioning, and golf performance (TPI Certified). I love helping people move, feel, and perform their best—both on and off the field.

Core Values: Being transparent, kind, and maintaining a solid work ethic.

“Hey, why don’t I just go eat some hay, make things out of clay, lay by the bay? I just may! What’d ya say?” – Happy Gilmore

At Direct Orthopedic Therapy, I enjoy working with all populations and conditions/injuries so that I can continue to learn and grow every day, but the majority of my experience and training includes outpatient orthopedics and manual therapy.

The overall patient experience and holistic approach to wellness. In today’s medical model, we are unfortunately treated as numbers, not people. Also, the current model is so focused on short-term fixes and prescription drugs, and I would like to be a part of the overall shift of our medical system to focus on longevity, wellness, and an active lifestyle.

I enjoy treating orthopedics, post-op rehab, vestibular, sport-specific performance PT, especially for golfers and hockey players.

I love working here because no matter the service—whether it’s a restaurant or some type of performance—your likelihood to return to the restaurant or go see a concert again and be happy with the return on investment most likely has to do with what your overall experience was like. Physical therapy is a service, and it should be an experience as well for the patient. DOT allows us as clinicians the freedom to be able to provide an above-and-beyond experience that is unfortunately hard to find in the world of medicine today. The ability to provide an exceptional overall experience and establish a trusting relationship with our patients is a direct correlation with patient outcomes and how quickly they are able to return to doing the things that they love without pain.

Patient Testimonials

“I have received very caring, very personalized attention at Direct Orthopedic Therapy. My PT (who is a doctor), Dr. Cage, does everything he can to help alleviate my pain, to help me work toward healing, and to help me just feel better. You really know that your health and well being are important to them. You aren’t just a number.”

“I can’t say enough about this physical therapy practice. I’ve been to many in our city, and I am so thrilled with Dr. Cage, Madison and the office staff, and everything about this marvelous place. I am already feeling so much better, and the attention I have received from everyone has been incredible. Highly recommend.”

“Dr Cage is amazing. My neck was locking up from a bad chiropractor several years before. It was a shooting pain when I turned my head to the left. I didn’t want anyone to touch me for fear of it getting worse. Finally I asked my Primary Care for therapy referral. Luckily I got Dr Cage. He listens, I follow his home instructions and now I have no problem turning my head or having the grinding sand sensation it my neck. Everyone is professional!”
