Dr. Camy Erlandson
PT, DPT
Physical Therapist
I was born and raised in Florida – a true Floridian through and through! Growing up, I was a dancer for several years and I played tennis throughout middle and high school. I graduated from the University of North Florida in 2022 and began working in the outpatient setting soon after.
Most of my work experience has been in orthopedics, ranging from general pain, both acute and chronic injuries, post-operative orthopedic patients, work-related injuries, athletes, and the senior population. I was a travel physical therapist for a while, treating patients in several different parts of the country. I recently moved back to Jax and am so happy to be back home!
I’m joining the DOT team after several travel contracts in busy outpatient clinics. I’m excited to apply the knowledge I’ve gained from my experiences to the one-on-one patient care model that DOT offers which is set apart from the majority of traditional physical therapy clinics.
My Core Values Are:
- Integrity
- Compassion
- Empathy
- Humility
- Respect
- Faith
“Always do your best. What you plant now, you will harvest later.” —Og Mandino
I am a mobile therapist, mostly treating at patients’ houses. I really like the option of working with patients in the comfort of their own home. I enjoy the opportunity of visiting a person’s house to find their particular limitations and have access to the equipment they have available to them which aids in setting specific goals and creating an individualized treatment plan.
Within the realm of physical therapy, my true and greatest passion is pelvic health. I’ve been drawn to pelvic floor physical therapy for several years and I keep coming back to it. I feel strong about advocating for this type of service that is too often underutilized, whether due to a lack of awareness, availability, or resources. My favorite part about treating pelvic floor dysfunction is helping empower people to take control of their condition, regain normalcy, build confidence, and improve quality of life through treatment and intervention.
I want to help patients address their limitations, work toward meeting their goals, and help them be the best version of themselves so they can be mobile and able to do both the things they need to do and want/love to do and have a fulfilling life – and this includes maintenance and prevention for the future after they complete their established plan of care!
I love that DOT is a group of like-minded clinicians who all believe that each patient is unique and as a result have a goal of treating every patient as an individual. I’m excited to be a part of a team that embodies the company’s mission and sees the value of one-on-one time with patients, allowing us to be the best therapists we can be while creating space to get to know our patients on a deeper level to help us better understand their journey, build their trust, and ultimately provide the best physical therapy experience that they deserve!
