Dr. Hunter Simes
PT, DPT, CSCS
Physical Therapist
I moved frequently growing up, living in five different states and attending over 17 schools. Despite that, I’ve always considered Jacksonville home. I attended the University of North Florida (Go Ospreys) for my undergraduate degree before moving to Denver to complete PT school at the University of Colorado. I love living in the Jacksonville area and close to the beach again.
My past experiences have shaped how I care about people. Consistently moving and building new relationships, while challenging, gave me an appreciation for everyone and an understanding that everyone needs someone in their corner to support them achieve their goals.
Personal athletic pursuits, clinical experience, post-graduate advanced training and specialization have sharpened my clinical skills and approach over the years.
I have a background in powerlifting and enjoy staying active whether that is being outdoors, weightlifting, running or on the golf course. I’m a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), a license typically reserved for strength and conditioning professionals.
This advanced certification and my background shape my approach to helping patients return to the activities they love by bridging rehab, fitness and healthy life habits that support their longevity.
I have a desire to get better each and everyday, I am always looking for ways to grow and learn. #BetterThanYesterday
“Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.”
Romans 5: 3-4
I’m a core member of the provider team at our Jacksonville Beach location. I am interested in treating patients of all ages and backgrounds.. working to guide them back to what they love doing.
I have a special passion for working with patients that are getting back into powerlifting, weightlifting, golf and running!
The ability to spend 1-on-1 time with a patients is becoming increasingly more rare in physical therapy and healthcare as a whole, and the ability to practice at DOT in an environment that fosters healing, growth, and long lasting relationships is so fulfilling.
